A Seamless Family Relocation from the US to Singapore

These executive clients approached Havana Interiors several months before relocating their family from the United States to Singapore. With young children and an international move ahead of them, their priority was to arrive in Singapore to a home that was completely furnished, comfortable and ready for family life from day one.

The 3,000 sq ft residence was arranged across five levels, presenting a unique design challenge. With the project undertaken predominantly remotely, our role was to manage the interior design and furnishing process in Singapore on the clients’ behalf, allowing them to focus on their relocation while we prepared their new home for their arrival.

The design concept was a modern interpretation of an eclectic, earthy interior - relaxed and layered, with enough character to immediately give the newly furnished property a sense of warmth and familiarity.

Throughout the main living spaces, we introduced a considered mix of different wood tones, natural textures and softer finishes rather than matching every element. This created a more collected and established aesthetic, giving the home personality while maintaining a sophisticated and cohesive overall design.

The children’s bedrooms were approached with the same philosophy. Wallpaper, colour and playful details were introduced to create rooms that felt warm and individual, helping to give the children their own familiar and welcoming spaces within an entirely new home and country.

Across all five levels, furniture, rugs, lighting, artwork and accessories were carefully considered to balance the practical requirements of a young family with the clients’ preference for a refined yet relaxed interior. The result feels intentionally layered rather than overly styled - comfortable enough for everyday family life while retaining a sophisticated design aesthetic.

For our clients, the ability to manage the project remotely was particularly important. An international relocation already involves an enormous number of decisions and logistics, so our objective was to make establishing their Singapore home one aspect they did not need to worry about.

By the time the family arrived, their residence was fully furnished and ready for them to move straight into, allowing their first days in Singapore to be focused on settling into their new life rather than furnishing an empty property.

The completed Greenwood Avenue residence is warm, earthy and characterful - a sophisticated family home designed to feel lived-in and welcoming from the very beginning.
