Luxury Landed Residence

A Contemporary Family Home with Personality

Our Chinese executive clients approached Havana Interiors as they prepared to make a significant transition from a compact apartment above ION Orchard to an expansive new family residence.

Set across five sprawling levels and offering more than 4,000 sq ft of living space, including its own private swimming pool, the new property represented an entirely different way of living. The clients required assistance not only with furnishing the residence in its entirety, but also with undertaking a series of considered renovations to tailor the brand-new property to their family's needs.

Although the house had never previously been occupied, new does not necessarily mean perfectly suited to the people who will live within it. Selected areas were therefore renovated and adapted to improve functionality, introduce more considered finishes and create a home that felt personalised rather than simply newly built.

The interior design brief was to create a welcoming and sophisticated family home with personality.

Rather than adopting an entirely neutral approach, we introduced carefully considered colour throughout the residence, complemented by statement designer pieces, artwork and more individual furniture selections. These elements brought character to the expansive interiors and allowed the home to better reflect the clients' personalities and lifestyle.

Moving from a compact apartment into a five-level residence also required an entirely new approach to scale. Each space needed to feel appropriately furnished without becoming overly formal or filled simply for the sake of occupying the larger footprint.

Furniture, rugs, lighting, artwork and accessories were therefore carefully selected to establish individual spaces while maintaining a cohesive design language throughout the home. Designer pieces were balanced with comfortable, practical furnishings to ensure the residence remained first and foremost a family home.

The private swimming pool became another important element of the property, bringing a relaxed resort-like quality to everyday life and providing a natural setting for family time and entertaining.

Across all five levels, the objective was to balance contemporary luxury with warmth, comfort and individuality - creating interiors that felt polished but never impersonal.

The completed residence is a reflection of the family who lives within it: sophisticated and design-conscious, yet colourful, comfortable and welcoming.

For Havana Interiors, this project demonstrates the value of approaching even a brand-new property with a considered design eye. Through selective renovation, complete furnishing and thoughtful personalisation, we transformed a newly completed house into a home specifically designed around its owners.
