Falling in Love with Home Again

Our Indonesian-Australian executive clients had been living in Singapore, and in this 2,900 sq ft condominium, for five years when they approached Havana Interiors to refresh their family home.

Rather than relocating or undertaking a major renovation, the brief was to reimagine the home they already loved - creating a lighter, fresher and more cohesive interior that better reflected their lifestyle and the way their family had evolved.

After several years in the same space, the apartment was ready for an update. We began by considering which existing pieces should remain and where carefully selected new furniture could make the greatest impact. This allowed us to retain elements that continued to work for the family while introducing a more refined and cohesive design direction.

The transformation extended beyond furniture. The existing marble flooring was professionally polished to restore its finish, while the apartment was repainted throughout, immediately bringing a renewed sense of freshness and light to the interiors.

With two young children, the home needed to remain comfortable, practical and genuinely family friendly. Furniture and finishes were therefore selected not only for their aesthetic qualities, but also for durability and the realities of everyday family life.

The design direction drew inspiration from relaxed Australian coastal living, creating a subtle connection to the clients' home in Sydney. Clean lines and a fresh palette were layered with warmer textures and comfortable furnishings, resulting in spaces that feel sophisticated without being overly formal or precious.

Existing furniture was thoughtfully incorporated alongside new key pieces, demonstrating that transforming a home does not always require starting again. Sometimes a considered edit, refreshed finishes and a handful of carefully chosen additions can completely change the way a familiar space feels.

The result is a home that feels fresh, warm and timeless - still familiar to the family who had lived there for years, but renewed in a way that made them excited about their home all over again.

For Havana Interiors, this project was ultimately about helping our clients rediscover what they already had and creating a home that continued to work beautifully for the next stage of family life.

A thoughtful transformation designed to make our clients fall in love with their home all over again.
