A Nature-Inspired Home with a Personal Connection

Our US executive client approached Havana Interiors after relocating to Singapore from Hong Kong. Having previously worked with an interior designer in Hong Kong and enjoyed the experience, he wanted the same considered approach when establishing his new home in Singapore.

With no existing furniture being brought across, we had the opportunity to create the interior from the ground up - developing a complete furnishing concept that would feel sophisticated and contemporary, while also having a strong personal connection to the client.

The inspiration came from the mountain landscapes of the United States where he had grown up.

Rather than interpreting this theme too literally, we drew upon the colours, textures and natural materials associated with the landscape to create an interior that felt calm, grounded and refined.

A palette of earthy greens and deep blues was layered with warm timber accents, natural textures and nature-inspired artwork. These elements introduced colour and character while maintaining a sophisticated aesthetic appropriate for the contemporary condominium.

Furniture was carefully selected to create a sense of balance throughout the home. Clean-lined contemporary pieces were softened with tactile fabrics, organic forms and warmer timber finishes, creating an interior that feels polished without being overly formal.

Artwork also became an important part of the design story. Nature-inspired pieces were selected to reinforce the connection to the outdoors and subtly reference the landscapes that held personal significance for the client.

The result is a home that feels warm, grounded and distinctly personal - a contemporary Singapore residence influenced by memories of a very different landscape.

For Havana Interiors, this project demonstrates the importance of understanding the person behind the interior. A successful home is not simply a collection of beautiful furniture; it should reflect something of the client's history, lifestyle and personality.

From Hong Kong to Singapore, with a subtle connection to the mountains of home.
